This website is used by institutions to submit AAUP Faculty Compensation Survey data, create peer comparisons, build custom reports, and view national reports. Please visit the main AAUP website for general information on the AAUP’s Department of Research and Public Policy and its annual Faculty Compensation Survey.
The 2024-25 Faculty Compensation Survey opened on December 3, 2024 and will close on February 21, 2025. All data on full-time faculty should be reported as of November 1, 2024.
Full-time faculty compensation data are available by gender and rank (Full Professor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Instructor, and Lecturer). Information on fringe benefits is also available, including retirement, health insurance, and dependent tuition benefits. This study provides independently validated data for salary negotiations, collective bargaining, and setting salaries for new positions.
Provide credible answers to trustees, state boards, legislators, and funders to promote transparency, demonstrate efficiency, and establish benchmarks. The 2015-16 report was the first to include data on part-time faculty.
The Faculty Compensation Survey provides outstanding data on faculty compensation that is used extensively by institutions' administrators, hiring committees, and faculty. Having salary and benefit comparison data helps establish a climate of trust and transparency throughout higher education. Important research work on gender equity also becomes available through the FCS.
